Job Description
PODIATRIST (DPM)
Diagnose and treat disorders, diseases, and injuries of the foot and lower leg.?
Duties:
* Evaluates patients
* Treats patients with corns, calluses, ingrown toenails, bunions, heel spurs, and arch problems; ankle and foot injuries, deformities, and infections; and foot complaints associated with diabetes and other diseases.?
Prescribe drugs and physical therapy, set fractures, and perform surgery.?
Fit corrective shoe inserts called orthotics, design plaster casts and strappings to correct deformities, and design custom-made shoes.?;
* Maintains interdisciplinary treatment by reviewing treatment plans and progress; consulting and collaborating with primary care physicians, Endocrinologist, therapists, nurses, and other health care providers.?
* Assures quality and safe service for patients and staff by enforcing policies, procedures, standards, rules, AAAHC for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations requirements, and legal regulations; participating in utilization reviews.?
* Maintains historical records by documenting symptoms, medications, and treatment events; writing summaries.?
